Dutch Para Archery Tournament 2016 Cancelled

An official statement was issued by the organisers of the competition on Sunday.

“After careful consideration, we have decided to withdraw the Dutch Para Archery Tournament 2016 from the calendar,” the statement read.

“The Preliminary Entry period has now closed, listing 53 archers and 28 officials, roughly half of what we need to organise a financially sound and competitive tournament.”

“We apologise for any inconvenience this decision may cause.”

Two major para archery tournaments remain on the European calendar in 2016, ahead of the Paralympic Games in Rio.

The European Para Archery Championships and continental qualifier for the Paralympics takes place in Saint Jean de Monts, France from 2 to 10 April, then Czech Target 2016, which is the final Paralympic quota tournament, runs on 11-20 June.
